What we collect

• The email address you give us when you start reading a book or join a reading club.
• Which book you chose, your target finish date, and your reading progress (current position, words read, reading streak).
• Interactions with delivery emails — opens, "stop here" clicks, and control buttons (pause, resume, speed, next portion) — along with the IP address on click-through links, so we can keep your progress accurate and pause delivery to inactive subscribers.
• If you start or join a reading club, the emails of the people you invite and the club's shared progress.
• Any notes or highlights you choose to send back by replying to a delivery email. These stay private unless you explicitly opt in to share a highlight anonymously with other readers.

How we use it

Solely to run the service: sending your daily or weekly portions, tracking progress and streaks, honoring the controls you use, and re-engaging you if you go quiet for a while. We don't sell your data or use it for advertising.

Who we share it with

We use SendGrid (a Twilio company) to send and receive email and to report delivery, open, and click events back to us. If you click through to buy a book on Amazon, that visit and any cookies it sets are governed by Amazon's own privacy policy, not ours.

Your choices

Every delivery email includes links to pause, change pace, or stop entirely — no account or login required. To have your data deleted outright, contact us with the email address you subscribed with.

Children

GuteBook.com isn't directed at children, and we don't knowingly collect information from anyone under 13.

Changes

If this policy changes materially, we'll update this page.
